On behalf of your OPSEU Ambulance Executive I am writing to ask you to become involved in our joint union campaign to change the OMERS Pension Plan to include a Normal Retirement Age of 60 (NRA 60) for paramedics, the same as firefighters and police. Please take a moment now to send a letter to your municipal councillor(s) on this important issue.
A draft letter is attached for you to personalize (same as e-Letter found below). It is important to act quickly because the Association of Municipalities of Ontario (AMO, which holds two seats on the OMERS Sponsors Corporation) is holding a special meeting on this issue on March 28.
Please also check the attached link to see if any of your councillors are on the AMO Board of Directors, and if so, please ensure that they become a focus of your lobbying. I am also attaching the link to the campaign information on the OPSEU ambulance website, for your information.
